Crayola Rating for Presidential Nominees

January 13th 2008 23:12
Category: No Category
Everywhere I look lately, there they are, the assorted pundits on television, radio, the internet or in print, trying to micro massage the reviews of the various nominees in agonizing detail; when did we (the voting public) become to stupid to make decisions for ourselves.

When thinking about what all of the candidates competing for their party's Presidential Nomination stand for, I was struck with this mental image; their collective positions are like a variety box of crayons. They’re slightly different in brilliance, age, and usage, but still, just crayons. No real differences, just SOS (same old stuff).

So, to reconcile the matter, I went to the Crayola Web Site, and selected a few descriptors that fit the profile of the current candidates.

For the Democrats’:

Hillary Clinton - The Erasable Twistables 16 count box, with an unused classic 120 display box. Interpreted: No foundation,no accountability, no real experience, quicksand platform.
Barack Obama - The Sampler 4 count box, with Glitter 16 count box leanings. Interpreted: No track record, running on new and different.
John Edwards - The Silly Scents 16 count box, with a sampler 4 count box history. Interpreted: His record stinks so badly that it can't be disguised.

For the Republican’s:

John McCain - The Original 8 count box, with the Anti-roll 8 count box stoicism. Interpreted: He's basic, dependable and immutable.
Mike Huckabee - The Original 16 count box, with the Anti-roll 8 count box leanings. Interpreted: A bit colorful, basic and reliable.
Rudy Giuliani - The Erasable Twistables 16 count box, but needs the Washable 16 count box. Interpreted: You can count on him to run the USA like he did NYC.
Ron Paul - The Silly Scents 16 count box. Interpreted: Traveled to Ixtlan once to often.

So, how would you rate them using the Crayola gauge?

I am so glad it is not hyped up so much here, mass hysteria, if you ask me, they say the US public is becoming more and more stupid, education quality falling is the reason I suspect, and no time to think while they knock themselves out with movie stars and drink and drugs and ....... over to you Raven.

yup, I concede that there is a general inclination to dumb down the masses here in the USA katyzzz. Critical thinking in this country now amounts to knee jerk reactionism to sound bites.

Exactly, Kleo, big fun for mobs, but not for thinkers. This is the start of what I believe to be the 'silly' season. Raven

Oh, I think it's all crazy Raven, and certainly stupid, if if's not Paris they're screaming for it's a Poly, perhaps they've all got screaming sickness or crucible like hysteria, (nothing changes, does it?)

Raven - love the interpretations! I worry sometimes about the amount of dumbing-down that goes on in the media.

Hello Krystal, some folks just have to be groupies to a star or a cause it seems.

Kylie, my interpretations are at least fun. The media has a collective superiority complex, bordering on self absorption.

Maybe if we held a group hug and mantra session Damo, we could drive the political demons back to hell.

Thanks for visiting everyone. Raven

I'm glad I live in Australia and we don't have to hear about this much. I don't really know what to make out about either candidate but as long as they aren't as big of an idiot as your current leader I'm sure they'll be good.

I would probably go with McCain only for the fact that President McCain sounds bad ass

Hahaha, John McCain just happens to be my pick of the litter as well Wayne. Those other folks are just wound up to tightly for me. Raven
