Holiday Angst

Today is the 4th of July, the day Alaskans celebrate our Independence Day along with those other outsiders from below Canada. I chauffeured Tisha to work this morning and could not believe the incoming traffic, it was an amazing sight. Just the drive put knots in my stomach of both pride and trepidation. PTSD works me over regularly. In fact I have been in the throes of depression for weeks now, much to do about nothing that I can put hand or pen to, it's just there.

Wow.

The streets in downtown Juneau are shoulder to shoulder with parade watchers today; Medford and I are doing the Ostrich thing and hiding under the bed due in part to the fire crackers going off, that and crowds disturb us. Sadly, there is so much crap under the bed our butts and legs aren’t being sheltered as well. This stress has caused Medford to shed copious amounts of fur and I am loosing back hairs like crazy, Tisha is going to make us vacuum up the mess, oh poor me.

Geez, holidays and weekends make me quiver to the point I hafta hold myself together with duct tape and medicine. But ~ there is an upside to all of this. I’ve hiked much of the depression out of me and my angst is subsiding. I hope that all of you enjoy a peaceful weekend.

Like a breathe of fresh air, the Raven returns, and I just love that cat and mouse, each as silly as the other, but Puss has little to worry about.

Your Raven relatives sent back my bill, unknown at this address, how come? I thought you were known everywhere, the debt collectors said it was a debt not worth pursuing and I have taken their word for it. Pity, the pickings around here have been very lean lately.

Do hang around for a while. Although it's peaceful out there. ( Other than 4 July )

Kleo, Medford and Raven, just who am I responding to, just love seeing my name here again, Kleo, but shouldn't you be sleeping?

As soon as I can evert my eyes again, Kleo, I'll be over to see you, it's not good for Raven to receive all my attention, although I do love receiving his, he can be quite cute when he's not being sleezy, but, you, my dear are simply sleepy.

I wonder if Raven charges for the use of his blog, no worries, nobody pays much at all around here, I get so excited when I see a few miserable cents, who would ever have believed it? But, I know, I'm the only mercenary around here.

Kleo, thanks for the love and hugs, it sustains and nurtures us. Medford is all scratched up, he thinks he has claws and is pretty scrappy ~ but, after the fray, he brings his opponents into the house for a snack. Go figure that one out. The hiking is bringing me back around to my semi normal rancorous self.
